Post Appendectomy Pain?

About a year and a half ago i had my appendix removed due to an appendicitis. I am an athlete and recently i have been noticing some pain while doing abdominal exercises. The surgery that was performed on me was laproscopic. The pain is directly below the incision furthest to the left. I am a diver so we have a very rigorous ab workout. The pain gets so bad sometimes i have to stop. Is there anything i should do? Is this normal to have pain this long after the operation?
