Should I listen to my first metal album?

Ok let me put this straight, The only metal albums i've ever heard is glam-metal, While hunting around for records I saw a box of metal that was cheap so I was like "Hey what bad can it do", I think this album is metal (Not sure), It's called Holy Diver by Dio, Should a classic pop/rock fan give this album a try? Thanks..
