SURFING: Channel Islands - Dumpster Diver?

I'm thinking about getting the Dumpster Diver by Dane Reynolds, probably a 5'7. I was wondering if that board surfs well in small waves? The CI website says small/med surf, i'll be surfing knee-waist high. If anyone has any experience with that board i'd like to know about its performance in small beach breakers. Thanks.
