Why did Republicans invade Iraq, but oppose helping Libyan Democracy Protestors?

Actually it's a civil war that's being fought in Libya, and the U.S. has shown its clear intention to overthrow the government by smashing government military forces and giving the rebel forces, or, "freedom fighters" as you call them, a means of victory over Qaddafi. Republicans overthrew the Iraq government; Democrats are overthrowing the Libyan government. Both used the same propaganda of "saving" and "protecting" the citizens (after watching for decades), and both claim, as do all U.S. regimes, that the foreign leader is "a mad man" whose forces "kill innocent civillians and "rape women"... blah, blah, blah.
